APPRECIATION:  October is pastor appreciation month and I’m amazed how many churches do nothing to express their gratitude to the pastor (I Timothy 5:17) and his family. If you are laymen and your church doesn’t do anything for your pastor, you should spearhead an event to let your pastor know how much he and his family are loved.  

Moreover, every department leader should express their appreciation to those working with them. Sometimes a note or small gift card is sufficient.  I can’t say enough about public recognition (Romans 13:7) for those doing great service to King Jesus. 

One final thought. If you receive a gift, be sure to write and note and express your appreciation for the gift. I guess you could say you’re expressing appreciation for the appreciation.
