The Leader's Growth

THE LEADER’S GROWTH:  Someone has stated, “When you are through growing, you are through.”  So, how’s a leader to grow? Here are a few tips from my own growth plan through the years:

1.  Study in themes: For example,  in one segment of my life I studies leadership for five straight years. Nearly every book I read was on this subject. This will help you to really get a broad knowledge of the area you want to grow in.

2.  Position Grow: Gain as much knowledge as possible about your current position. In whatever status you hold in ministry, focus on growing in that area. For example, in my case learning all I can about being an effective Evangelist.

3.  Ask Questions: Jesus was a master at this. He would even answer questions with questions. Have you noticed in our Facebook leadership 101 lessons how many questions I’ve asked?

4.  Reading stewardship: One thing I did when I had a secretary was to have my secretary type everything I highlighted or underlined from each book I read. I didn’t over do it but it was nice to go to the file and grab a one or two page piece of paper and have an immediate overview without having to read the entire book again.
